Thirty West Newsletter - June 2023
We crowned a winner, bringing the books outdoors, and general submissions early?!
Hello and Happy Pride. With this month being a scheduled rest period from publishing new books, I’m putting the ball in your court for a while.
The Wavelengths Contest has ended. All of us are excited to publish another debut poet this summer. Check out more, including a first-ever spotlight on a couple of finalists, by clicking the button below.
In about a week, I will be tabling at an art & culture fair in Delaware. The first of a few in 2023 for Thirty West. Afterward, we’re going to have a big sale of whatever’s left. It’ll be fast-paced and easy on your wallet. While I love looking at all the books we’ve published on my shelf, it’s not as good as seeing them in your To Be Read pile.
Lastly, Thirty West is gearing up for our 2024 Open Submissions. Normally, we do this near the end of summer, but our masthead wants some summer reading! Expect an official announcement in the coming weeks, but you can always submit to Afterimages (yes, this very newsletter) year-round if you have a book review, essay, or similar.
July and August will be much more exciting with forthcoming books, so sit tight. In the meantime, check out our 2023 Catalog to catch up on authors we’ve published and those who are coming up. Maybe donate a couple of bucks on Patreon to offset operational costs? Take care of yourselves and each other. Get outside, too :)
